What is NetForge?

NetForge is a browser-based interactive lab platform for learning networking and cybersecurity. Labs cover subnetting, VLANs, routing, wireless, and security — all running live in your browser with no install required.

Do I need to install anything?

No. Every lab runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript and SVG. There are no virtual machines, no Cisco emulators, and no downloads.

Do I need an account?

No. All labs and exam practice are free without signing in. An account is optional and lets you save progress across devices.

What browsers are supported?

Any modern browser — Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge all work. The labs use standard web technologies with no browser-specific dependencies.

Does anything cost money?

No. All labs and exam practice features are free. NetForge no longer takes new payments. Previous purchases and any related customer support or refund rights remain unaffected.

Do I need an account?

No. You can use everything without signing in. An optional account saves your learning progress.

Which exam practice is available?

CompTIA Network+ (N10-009) and CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701), including timed mock exams, question-by-question explanations, and objective tracking. It is free for everyone.

Are the labs enough to pass the exam on their own?

The labs are an excellent complement to study materials — they provide the hands-on understanding that textbooks can't. We recommend using them alongside a structured course or study guide rather than as a standalone revision tool.

Do the labs help with CompTIA exams?

Yes. Labs cover Network+ and Security+ objectives, including advanced enterprise topics, and the exam simulator is available to everyone at no cost.

My progress isn't saving — what's wrong?

Progress is stored in your browser's localStorage. If you're using private/incognito mode, or have localStorage disabled, progress won't persist between sessions.

The lab isn't loading — what should I try?

Try a hard refresh (Ctrl+Shift+R / Cmd+Shift+R). If the problem persists, clear your browser cache or try a different browser. If you still see issues, email support@netforgens.com.

Can I use NetForge on mobile?

The labs are designed for desktop use and work best on screens wider than 768px. Some simpler tools work on tablet and mobile, but interactive labs with topology diagrams are optimised for a larger screen.
